A few weeks after dropping my iPhone in a toilet and getting a new one and I still haven’t called AT&T for my vmail password, or returned to Mini Cooper so they can reconfigure my blue tooth, or emailed iTunes for my password so I can download apps again. (SERIOUSLY! Phones are so much work these days).
So I had my new but not-yet-set-up iPhone on my bedside table and I was picking up a cup of water that I’d set on a ledge. Well, of course I knocked it over, and some water got on my phone. I can’t believe this—!
Well, just to let you know, I THINK it still works. But FYI, if this happens to you, the guy at the Mac store said NOT to blow-dry it with a hair drier. I did that last time. But the heat is too much.
However, if you place it in a bowl of rice (I chose Basmati) for like, a WEEK, he said, it will soak up the moisture. You can even bring the bowl in your car to get a little heat. Can you believe?! Sounds like an urban myth, but he assured me it’s the recipe for success.
I hope I’m not being punk’d. Have you ever done this?
