I am still reeling from tonight’s episode.
Sonja Morgan was pretty bratty this week on Real Housewives of New York. I was so disappointed. She has been my favorite ever since her debut.
I mean, Alex is sad and annoying and doesn’t know when to give up…and she thinks she’s a model and her husband wears sparkly jackets…but still. Sonja was really out of touch.
Two things I did like, though: 1) Sonja’s top from the art party, which had a big bow and looked like Chanel, and 2) her admitting she looked 80 years old in that portrait of her. She said, “Make me look 40, not 80!” HA! I like that she’s so direct. And that other girl…Cindy? She was like, “If a guy I was dating painted me that way [because he saw me that way], he would be gone.” Good point.
But anyway, Sonja was snotty and hyper and two-faced…and then, perhaps most shockingly, she pronounced Miu Miu like “MYOO-ey MYOO-ey.” What???? My favorite designer, blasphemed. Who says that? It’s mainstream enough that you should know how it sounds. It’s Miuccia Prada’s nickname, for Pete’s sake.
The Countess had the best quotes of the night—better than anyone in most of the RHONY episodes, in fact:
- “Nobody drinks at lunch any more, it’s so boring.” YES! HA! It is so boring that people don’t drink during the day.
The Countess and Sonja had pink Champagne at Le Caprice on Fifth Ave. I was excited because my grandma and I and her guests ate there about three times in four days when she came to stay. (But only because we stayed in the hotel upstairs and it was convenient (she saw about 10 blocks of NYC while she was there)). And the maitre d’ gave me his card and wanted me to come back…
Sonja Morgan said Le Caprice was her favorite restaurant! But that does not redeem her.
Also from the Countess:
“[Alex] found her voice and now she needs to be quiet.”
“I don’t know what Alex was wearing…some S & M bondage thing…I would’ve kicked her out just for the dress.”
It’s kinda true. There was hardware on straps and it was body-conscious, and at her age, it wasn’t appropriate.
Does anyone notice how often they film Alex throwing back a glass of wine or Champagne? She does it at least once an episode. That’s about the only thing I like about her.
Do you watch? What were your thoughts on last night’s episode?
P.S. Sam Hill—that was for Beth.
