1. DO or DON’T?: Bright nails past age 22.
I was DOing my nails the other day when my dad said, “That color takes ten years off of you!” Ouch? Next thing you know I’ll be a 40-year-old wearing Daisy Dukes.
I went upstairs and plucked a gray hair (I really did!!!).
2. DO: Watching The King’s Speech
I’m serious, people. I’m not going to let up on this.
Here’s a recording of the real King George IV’s 1939 speech!
3. DON’T: Postponing the Real Housewives of New York
I read today that Bravo is postponing RHONY, possibly because there isn’t enough drama. Who cares? I want my Sonia and Countess, et al! They promised the new season would begin February 15th—we were SO close!—so that is a little sudden and jarring for me.
4. DO: Easing up on the dating advice
I know—it sounds like blasphemy, but I have a stack of galleys on my desk at the moment. Every relationship author/expert wants an interview, and I am starting to…think too much. I’m inundated. I’m over-adviced. Honestly, Valentine’s season is like a dating blogger’s tax season.
And on top of that, it’s tax season! I am doing my freelancer’s taxes, and it ain’t fun.
5. DO: Employment!
Announcement: I just took a position as associate editor at San Diego Magazine! I feel so lucky. I start next week, and everyone who works there is soooo super nice! Anyway, I will still be present in the blogosphere (here and on Glamour), so I’m not going away!
Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy the Super Bowl (which I just found out today is spelled as two words, while I was copyediting this post).
