Yesterday, I woke up at the butt crack of dawn to “model” in a fashion segment on FOX 5. My friend Jenny asked me to do it. Only I didn’t know it was a show, with a runway. I thought that all I’d have to do was stand there and look awkward and plus-size. And cold—it was outside. (Ah! An outdoor fashion show at 8:45 in the morning in January—only in San Diego!)
When I came home, I started on my blog posts for Glamour—including this one about meeting Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky on set—and I forgot to watch the recording.
But then my dad emailed me about it.
Incidentally, my dad, who gives out praise as often as Scrooge gives out money, wrote that he’d seen the show and thought that I’d had “presence and éclat.” Whoa! I had to look up that second word. It means, “showy or elaborate display.” Can I count that as a compliment??
Anyhoo, it was a fun morning. Ali looks exactly like she does on TV. Maybe her voice sounded lower. She was quite pleasant, very agreeable. Too bad Roberto wasn’t there. I would have liked to see them in action!
As for me, I’d say my modeling days are is over.
